Deep in the Yorkshire Dales lies the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. Running for just over four miles, the line has a unique charm all of its own with its dramatic scenery and bustling industrial locomotives. My last visit here was in October 2014, as the line happened to be running their 'Hallowe'en Specials'. Now back three years later, it was my chance to see what's old and new about 'Yorkshire's Friendly Line'. During the August Bank Holiday, the line played host to a local circus, performing in a big top on Bolton Abbey Station forecourt, and was running its two-train timetable. The locomotives in service were stalwart Hunslet 'Austerity' 0-6-0ST 'Norman' running as National Coal Board No. 35 in a very smart matt black with wasp striping livery. Also running was BR Class 37 37294 in BR Blue Livery. In this video, 'Norman' and 37294 are captured on a variety of trains between the two stations. I hope you all enjoy the video. The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway is a great little line, and i recommend a visit if you get chance. Feel free to comment and subscribe!
