The NYMR's 2014 Spring Steam Gala was held over the May bank holiday weekend this year. With guest engines lined up such as LNER A4 Pacific 4464 'Bittern' and LMS Fowler 3F 'Jinty' 0-6-0T 47406 (which failed on its visit), the event was to see a variety of loco's in operation. It also marked the gala debut for LMS Black 5 44806 (A video of her on the 19th April can be seen on the channel). I rode up to Pickering behind 'Bittern' on the morning. (A video will follow shortly) and caught the small but attractive Lambton, Hetton and Joicey Collieries 0-6-2T No. 29 back in the afternoon. Turn your your volume and listen to that whistle! The Gala's full lineup consisted of: Visting Locomotives: LNER A4 Pacific 4464 'Bittern' (Visting from Locomotive Services Ltd) LMS Fowler 3F 'Jinty' 0-6-0T No. 47406 (Visiting from the Great Central Railway. Failed during my visit) Home Fleet: LNER Thompson B1 4-6-0 61264 (Running as 61034 'Chiru') BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75029 'The Green Knight' LMS Stanier Black 5MT 4-6-0 45428 'Eric Treacy' LMS Stanier Black 5MT 4-6-0 44806 (First Gala Apperance since moving to NYMR) BR Class 37 37264 (Covering for the failed 'Jinty') LH&JC 0-6-2T No. 29 Thanks to the NYMR for a great gala. I hope you all enjoy the video. Feel free to comment and subscribe!
