It has been over two years since i got a glimpse of LMS Stanier 'Princess Coronation' 8P 4-6-2 46233 'Duchess Of Sutherland'. Now, that barrier would be broken as the Stanier Pacific once again was at the helm of PMR Tours' 'The North Eastern' from Derby to York and Newcastle and return. The first location is of new territory in Northallerton, on one of the fastest parts of the East Coast Main Line. While there were rumours spreading of the 'Duchess' running some 30 minutes down, these were revealed to be false as 46233 stormed through the station at full speed with several whistles. Once the steam loco has cleared the platform, a Virgin East Coast Class 43 HST thunders through the opposite platform. If it was just seconds earlier, i would've be bowled. For the return journey, another new location was used at Ricknall Lane Bridge, near Newton Acyliffe, where 'Duchess Of Sutherland' is seen powering away from it's water stop at Ferryhill Junction. This location is seen at two angles, thanks to my friend accompanying me and filing the train going away with his phone. All in all, 46233 put in some incredible performances, leaving me with a smile on my face all day. I hope you all enjoy the video. Apologies for some rain spots on the camera lens at times. Feel free to comment and subscribe!
